At Montag's in Cross Plains $15 will get you four rather large bluegill fillets, a nice portion of waffle fries, some seriously stupendous tartar, creamy coleslaw, a regular roll, and a bonus cup of corn.
While I have my suspicions as to whether or not it was actual bluegill (if it is it's farm-raised for sure), it was delicious regardless. You could say my freshwater fish craving was satisfied this Friday.

That's two for two with the bluegill at Montag's. This round was especially tasty, and the five fillets had a flaky texture, a nice stretchy skin, and subtle fishy flavor. The waffle fries were as plentiful as can be, the tartar complimented the fish just right, the bun was soft and standard, the slaw was inviting, and the side of corn was a welcome addition. This was a great way to follow up a big holiday, and for $15 you can really expect much more.
