Missed out on my Friday Night Fish Fry so I figured a Sunday night stand-in at Country Gardens made sense. When I realized the Soldiers Grove mainstay was part of the @potosibrewingco Best Fish Fry bracket it sealed the deal.
CG has walleye on the menu every day of the week and the $19 fillet was large and in charge. It was ultra-flaky, home a light breading with a pleasant seasoning, and paired perfectly with the massive cup of tangy tartar.
A boatload of house-cut fries overloaded the plate with starchy goodness, and a romp through their iconic salad bar set the stage well for the fantastic freshwater fillet that followed.
Country Gardens is a great spot and while we came intent on getting a Reuben this St. Paddy's day we were quickly swayed when we saw the walleye sitting there. Overall, we highly recommend this Fish Fry and think you should check it out if you find yourself in the Kickapoo River Valley some Friday.

When the first round of the All You Can Eat is actually all you can eat. The big salad before played a part but those are some fat chunks of beer battered cod for sure. Everything was quite decadent and quite tasty.
