Comment: Another tasty (and huge) walleye fillet from the @driftlesssocial in Mt. Horeb.
The DS is a nice spot and the walleye runs $28, which is a little spendy, but if you’re on more of a budget there’s an $18 2-piece cod option as well. While it is large, the walleye is perfectly fried throughout - thick and thin sides alike. This fillet was flaky and meaty and home to a crunchy and crumbly breading that clung remarkably well. Good stuff.
The side of Smoky’s classic hash browns were also large and in charge and fried up just right. Highly recommend those. The thick and creamy tartar brought the bang and took the walleye to the next level while a small cup of creamy slaw tasted fresh and homemade, as did the mini football roll.
The Social is a pretty great place and unlike a lot of other places they take (and actually prefer) reservations on Fridays. Overall, we highly recommend this Fish Fry (even at the price) and think our second visit was every bit as good as the first.www.facebook.com/driftlesssocial/
