Comment: The 3-piece cod (four if you count the one I stole from the kid’s plate) from the Middleton Sport Bowl was a nice break between games in the Good Neighbor Fest 3 vs 3 Hockey Tourney. It surely kept us from getting Munsoned this Friday.
We rolled into the MSB with no time to spare and struck out with their classic cod plate. As per usual, the fish fried in a flash and the fresh rack looked simply splendid. Each of the four pieces found the pocket with a delicate flake and smooth beer batter. Thanks to the tangy tartar each bite exploded on the palate toppling all expectation.
The hash browns with cheese an onion hook hard and not a single shred was left standing at the end of the 10th. The split-top roll is well-framed and the only part of the plate that sniffed the gutter was the slaw, and even that stayed a few boards in.
While the Sport Bowl isn’t necessarily a 300, they keep a steady average and any league would be happy to have them. Overall, we recommend this Fish Fry and think it’s just about as consistent as they come. As a wise man once said: That creep can roll, man.www.sportbowl.com
